Hey hey! The Cubs came back to beat the Padres 3-2 at Wrigley on Monday behind a walk-off RBI single from Seiya Suzuki and a quality start from Shota Imanaga (6.1 IP, 2 ER)!
The North Siders had several missed scoring opportunities earlier in the game, leaving eleven on base and hitting 3-for-13 with runners in scoring position. But consecutive singles by Dansby Swanson, Pete Crow-Armstrong, and Alex Bregman started the Cubs' 9th.
After a head-scratching send of Swanson on a shallow fly ball to left that resulted in a easy double play for San Diego, Suzuki blasted one high into the ivy deep in the well in left field to score PCA for the win.
The victory was the Cubs' 13th in their last 17th games. The series continues Tuesday at the federal landmark.
85 games down, 77 to go.
Go Cubs go!
