Contreras's grand slam in the first was enough. Brewcrew lost. Number drops by 2.

Brew crew is losing some games and dropping the number. Cubs need to step up. Last night was a bullpen failure giving the White Sox the win with a 9th inning homer. Hopefully they will do better tonight.

Yu Darvish gave the Cubs seven solid innings striking out ten while giving up only a solo home run yet he left trailing 1-0. The Captain of the Cubs showed up just in time mashing a two run shot to right field off of Dodgers closer Kenley Jansen though.
Pedro Strop notched his eighth save and the Cubs picked up a much needed win on what has been a rough West Coast road trip. They play the Dodgers on Sunday Night Baseball tonight as Quintana will square off against Ryu.

Cubs leave Denver on a high note with a 10-1 win. Hopefully momentum carries over. On to LA with a lot of late night games. 1/2 game back from those Brewers.

Jon Lester made the adjustment after throwing 36 pitches and allowing four earned runs in the first inning. He was able to settle in and go five more and thanks to the Cubs offense rallying back from a four run deficit, get the win. Kyle Schwarber punctuated an 11 pitch at bat by driving a fastball 407 feet for his 12th home run of the season.
Victor Caratini would later lash a three run double past Cardinal left fielder Marcell Ozuna on the first pitch he saw pinch hitting for Lester with the bases loaded. The Cubs bullpen turned in three scoreless innings in relief while striking out six, including Tyler Chatwood who continued a rebound 2019 season. He struck out three on 16 pitches, 11 strikes hitting 98 MPH.
