Holy cow! The first place Cubs downed Cincinnati 5-2 on Wednesday at Wrigley. Yu Darvish tossed a quality start (6 IP, 0 R, 2 H, 7 K), Kris Bryant and Addison Russell each homered, and Jason Heyward knocked in two for the North Siders.
Darvish's victory was his first ever at Wrigley, and Bryant's 2-for-3 day raised his season average to .299. Craig Kimbrel struck out two of the three batters he faced to earn his fourth save of the year.
The Cubs have Thursday off before kicking off a weekend series against the Friars on Friday at the Friendly Confines. 96 games down, 66 to go.

The end of the long 4th of July weekend didn't end with a win but Milwaukee lost so number drops. Things are tight in the NL Central.
Anyways, the first place Cubs need some rest. So we hit the all stars break. Javy, Wilson and Kris will not get much of a break because they're All Stars!!! Next game on Friday.

The Cubs dropped Tuesday night's game to the Bucs, but the Brewers' loss dropped the CMN. Back in action at Pittsburgh on Wednesday.
