PCA was named the starting center fielder for the NL All-Star squad, and Kyle Tucker was named the starting right fielder. Here's hoping they won't be the only Cubs to make the team this year! Suzuki, Busch, Kelly, and Boyd all deserve consideration.

Holy mackerel! The first place Cubs beat the Mariners 10-7 on Saturday behind two homers from Ian Happ, 4.1 innings of one-run ball from the bullpen, and homers from Kyle Tucker, Michael Busch, & Pete Crow-Armstrong.

It was the hottest day of the season at Wrigley with temps in the mid-90s and oppressive humidity. The home plate umpire left the game due to the heat, receiving medical attention. A second ump also was attended to by medical personnel after the game.

The rubber game of series is Sunday at Wrigley, and it'll be another hot one.

Matthew Boyd went six strong innings for the Cubs yesterday allowing only one run.  Ian Happ had a sacrifice fly and a scuffling Dansby Swanson notched his 13th home run of the season after striking out twice.

The bullpen trio of Ryan Pressly, Drew Pomeranz, and Daniel Palencia were able to hold the Pirates scoreless as the Cubs went on to win 2-1!

For Father's Day the Cubs send Colin Rea to the mound to square off against Mitch Keller!

Jameson Tallion gave the Cubs a strong 6 and a third tonight giving up two runs and striking out seven.  Brad Keller came in when things got messy and it was a bit stressful but he was able to keep the Cubs in front.  Daniel Palencia and Ryan Pressly both pitched clean innings in the 8th and 9th respectively to seal the W for the Cubs!

PCA and Seiya both hit long balls giving the Cubs 3 runs and all they would need to kick off the homestand with a win.  The series continues tomorrow with Paul Skenes squaring off tomorrow at 1:20 CST against Cade Horton!

The Cubs return home to Wrigley Field to start a 4 game series with the Pittsburgh Pirates tonight.  The Cubs wrapped up a 4-5 road trip with visits to Washington, Detroit, and Philadelphia.  They are still in a long stretch of games with only one off day so here's hoping that some home cooking will help get the boys right.  Jameson Tallion will square off against LHP Andrew Heaney.

The Cubs had a tough series in Detroit largely thanks to Tarik Skubal and Jack Flaherty.  We were able to avoid the sweep by winning the middle game.  The Cubs now move on to Philly!

The Cubs were able to win on Thursday 7-1 and take the series from Washington.  PCA had a two run homer in the first while Ian Happ homered and doubled to drive in four.  Drew Pomeranz opened for the second time this season and just like the first when it was for Ben Brown, Colin Rea came on in the second and went five and a third while giving up no runs.

Now onto Friday and the upcoming weekend!  The Cubs will head to Detroit sending Ben Brown to the hill to square off against reigning AL CY Young winner Tarik Skubal.  The Cubs and Tigers have their respective league's best record currently and as a special aside former Cubs Core four member Javy Baez will face his old squad having his best season yet as a Tiger.  This should be a very fun baseball weekend!  Go Cubs Go!

Jameson Tallion went six and a third strong innings Sunday for the Cubs giving up only 2 runs both earned off the bat of an Elly De La Cruz home run.  Jamo was stellar otherwise.  The Cubs bats were able to put up a four spot in the third started by a PCA RBI single then Dansby followed with a double and lastly Michael Busch hit a two run home run.

The offense added on in the fifth with an RBI single by Busch and then two more in the seventh when Nico Hoerner hit a two RBI single.  The trio of Caleb Thielbar, Ryan Pressly, and Ryan Brasier were able to hold the Reds to just one run and give the Cubs a series win!  The Cubs are off Monday then will begin a tough stretch that features 26 games in 27 days starting with a trip to Washington on Tuesday!

The Cubs used Drew Pomeranz as an opener on Saturday to help give Ben Brown more of a relief role at least mentally and boy did it work.  Ben went 6 shut out innings striking out 9 and only walking 1 while also only giving up a single hit.  The outing allowed Ben Brown to lower his season ERA from 6.35 to 5.72 and is hopefully a step in the right directon toward his future as a Major League starting pitcher.

The wind made for a tough day on the bats but that didn't stop Seiya Suzuki from doubling in Ian Happ.  Nor did it stop Dansby Swanson from hustling to beat out an infield single which enabled Kyle Tucker to score an insurance run.  Brad Keller and Daniel Palencia pitched two scoreless frames in a row with the latter picking up his 5th save.  The Cubs will try to win the series Sunday with Jameson Tallion on the mound as the calendar turns to June!

Jameson Tallion was magnificent for the Cubs as he went 6 and a third solid innings with the lone blemish being a line drive Mickey Moniak home run that not even the Wrigley winds could keep in the park.  The bullpen was on their mark pitching 2 and 2 thirds of shutout ball.  Daniel Palencia saved the game giving him three on the year and a save in back to back games.

Seiya Suzuki continued his great 2025 with a double. Dansby Swanson drove in Ian Happ and King Tuck also delivered a pair of RBI's which was more than enough as the Cubs won 3-1.  Next up it will be Cade Horton squaring off against German Marquez on Tuesday!

The Cubs series in Cincy against the Reds featured a pair of thrilling comeback wins.  Friday the Cubs were trailing 6-2 before the bats came to life in the 7th inning with a six spot capped by a PCA grand slam that was narrowly fair.  The Cubs would go on to add 5 more runs thanks to homers from Seiya and Dansby. They were able to win 13-6 holding Cincy's bats silent in terms of runs from that point on.  It was Matthew Boyd's worst start of the year and came after three stellar starts in a row.  Chris Flexen was credited with the win, his second since being recalled from Iowa.

Sunday was a very similar affair after Ben Brown struggled and couldn't get out of the fifth inning.  At the end of that inning the Cubs were facing a similar 8-3 deficit but the bats again would come to the rescue as Reese McGuire who had just been recalled for Sunday's game and wound up starting due to Carson Kelly being under the weather even with the Reds featuring lefty Nick Lodolo and what did Reese do?  He smacked a pair of homers including the game tying home run in the 8th inning after a Nico Hoerner RBI double and a Michael Busch single had brought the Cubs within a run.  Seiya Suzuki then crushed a three run homer in the 8th inning which propelled him into the major league lead with 49 RBI's.  Teammate Pete Crowe-Armstrong also has 48 on the year giving the Cubs quite the duo of hitters.  Daniel Palencia was able to come on and record his second save giving the Cubs the series win.  For Memorial Day the Cubs are back at Wrigley for a season with the Colorado Rockies who currently have the worst record in baseball.  It'll be Jameson Tallion on the bump facing off against lefty Carson Palmquist!

Kyle Tucker got the Cubs started with a first inning homer then had the game winning hit in the 8th inning driving in Matt Shaw after he walked and stole second.  Cade Horton went 5 and a third innings and didn't factor in the decision but was able to hold the Marlins to only one run.  The Cubs bullpen did the rest as Daniel Palencia picked up his first save on the year!  The Cubs have the day off Thursday before heading to Cincy.

After a rough walk off loss last night the Cubs responded in a big way in Miami winning 14-1.  The lopsided victory featured an 8 run sixth inning which was capped by a 2 run homer by Seiya Suzuki.  Kyle Tucker had three hits including his 11th homer of the year in the first.  Jameson Tallion shoved for the Cubs going seven and giving up only one run.  The Cubs tacked on five more runs in the 9th off Miami's left fielder Javier Sanoja.  As of this posting Seiya now has 43 RBI's on the season and is leading all of MLB!

The Cubs SWEEP the White Sox on Rivalry Weekend and it started early today with Seiya throwing a runner out at the plate and then PCA hitting a leadoff triple before being driven in by a Seiya sacrifice fly.  One of two Seiya would hit on the day.  Colin Rea gave the Cubs a strong 5 and a third giving up only one run.  The Cubs added three runs in the 6th and the bullpen surrendered only one run in the 9th to win 6-2.  The Cubs will head to Miami to start a new series Monday.
