Hey hey! The Cubs beat the Cards 6-4 on Sunday at Wrigley behind a nice start from Javier Assad (4.2 IP, 0 ER), a two-inning save from Jacob Webb, two RBI from Nico Hoerner, and a 2-for-4 day from June NL Player of the Month and All-Star Pete Crow-Armstrong!
Webb's save was his third of the season, and he lowered his season ERA to 3.29. Assad allowed just two hits while striking out two and walking two, lowering his season ERA to 4.15. It was his first scoreless appearance since June 12.
PCA continued his stellar 2026 campaign with two singles and two stolen bases. He is now batting .292 and has 23 steals on the season.
The North Siders kick off a six-game road trip on Tuesday – it'll feature three games in Baltimore and three in Cincinnati.
