HOLY COW! The first place Chicago Cubs beat the Reds 8-3 on Thursday behind a quality start from Shota Imanaga (6 IP, 1 ER, 10 K), a 3-for-3 day from red-hot Michael Conforto, and Daniel Palencia's second save!

The win completed a sweep of the four-game series, pushing Cincinnati to the cellar of the NL Central. The Cubs are on an incredible tear, having won 19 of their last 22 games including 15 straight at the Federal Landmark and NINE straight overall! They now sport the best record in MLB!

Conforto, in limited action, is now hitting .361 with a 1.134 OPS, and Imanaga's season ERA now sits at 2.28. New Cub Trent Thorton tossed another scoreless inning of relief, and Palencia finished the game by striking out the only batter he faced.

The Men in Blue head to Texas on Friday to kick off a nine-game road trip that also includes stops in Atlanta and on the South Side.

38 games down, 124 to go.

GO CUBS GO!
